NZ Lacrosse U15 Tournament Adelaide

Good Luck to Taylor who is leaving for Auckland today to join the New Zealand U15 lacrosse team entered in the Australian Lacrosse Associations annual age group tournament. Our lone representative from Canterbury. Things are going to change soon! Taylor attends Christchurch Boys High School.

Great Start to the Season

What a great turn out yesterday at Christchurch Girls High for the start of the lacrosse season. 18 men and juniors turned out a on a perfect lacrosse day for a 2 hour workout! Lots to learn and plenty to do. So next week we are looking to build on those numbers, We have a Canterbury juniors and mens team going to Hamilton at the end of January for the NZ Nationals, with opportunities for selection into age group New Zealand Teams, U15, U17 and U19 plus the New Zealand Mens team if you work hard.  So come and join the fun!

Lacrosse Season Opening Sept 19th

We are opening the lacrosse season at Christchurch Girls High School Sunday Sept 19th. We will be there for training and games from 2-4pm. Everyone welcome of all abilities.

Westminster Sport Open Day

Sport will be the winner on the day on October 10th as Westminster Sports have their inaugural “Have a Go Day” at Westminster and Christchurch Parks. With a range of sports to try out including; lacrosse, judo, rugby, football, squash, AFL , korfball and netball there is something for everyone.

Canterbury Season Opening Postponed

We are postponing the opening of the Lacrosse season in Canterbury due to the Earthquake and the fact that schools are not open at this time. We will open instead now on Sunday Spet 19th at Christhurch Girls HIgh School 2-4pm.

New Lacrosse Season Opening in Canterbury

Roar Lacrosse is now taking registrations for Men's, Women's and junior teams. We plan to take teams at all levels to the NZ National Lacrosse tournament in Hamilton late in January, So if you are interested register now.

Brine VIP Lacrosse Glove Recall

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, in cooperation with Brine (a division of Warrior Sports Inc. of Warren, Michigan), today announced a voluntary recall of Youth and Adult Brine VIP Lacrosse Gloves. Consumers should stop using the products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Otago University Lacrosse Clinic

This weekend Coaches from Canterbury Lacrosse are running a clinic at Otago university for interested players. This has been organised over the past 2 or 3 weeks. The clinic will run Saturday July 31st from noon -3pm on the university grounds for anyone interested in learning Lacrosse. Games between the Canterbury Mens, Canterbury University and Otago University teams should commence in October. This a huge development in mens lacrosse in New Zealand and the south Island specifically. Thanks to Coaches Jim Collins and Bill Brown for volunteering their time.

USA World Lacrosse Champs

Last night the USA beat Canada 12-10 to regain the top world ranking in the Mens World Lacrosse championships in Manchester England.  The teams started out very evenly with a strong 3rd quarter to the Canadians 4-0. Going into the 4th quarter it was all even at 8-8 with the USA coming out on top in the final quarter to take the championship.

New Zealand Lacrosse Team Dominates Switzerland

New Zealand finished 2nd in their group at the Mens World Championships being held in Manchester England, their first playoff
